“Thank you for your donation.  Our patients have little or no income and are unable to purchase such items to help support them in their journey with cancer.  Your kindness and thoughtfulness mean a great deal to many, many people.”

“My name is Julie Presler. I recently wrote and requested a hat package be sent to a little girl named Janie. Janie is five years old and has Stage IV Neuroblastoma. She was in remission for a little over a year, but now it has returned. She has been doing chemotherapy and is very upset about losing her beautiful blonde hair. When she received your wonderful package with FIVE hats, and Teddy-bear, we were in shock, and in tears. Janie’s eyes lit up! She won’t stop wearing the hats and carrying her little bear everywhere. She loves them so much. Being a college student, and low on funds, this organization has helped me, to help her, and I can’t thank you enough. Janie means the world to me, and to be able to make her smile, is a blessing. I think I am going to try and set up some sort of hat drive at my church, or college soon. I’m sure this group will continue to help many cancer patients, and I can’t thank you enough. You all have truly made a huge impact on society in the cancer life, and it means so much to all of us. I will continue to be praying for all of those who are sick and dying, and that these hats can bring them some joy through this hard journey. God bless and thank you for everything.”

“Your Heavenly Hats arrived at our cancer treatment center, the Derald H. Ruttenberg Treatment Center at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, a week or so ago and has since created quite a bit of excitement. To find that Heavenly Hats was the brainchild of a ten-year old, who has gone on to harness the resources to make Heavenly Hats a national program, was a true inspiration for us.  For our patients, losing hair as a result of chemotherapy is a devastating event, signifying a loss of control over one’s appearance and to a certain extent one’s destiny. Your Heavenly Hats are truly gifts from heaven, a reassurance to patients that there are people out there who do care, and who are praying for them. We are giving out the Heavenly Hats to our patients, and everytime we do so, we tell them the story of the 10-year old boy who decided that he needed to give some of his hope and love to cancer patients.  Thank you for the gifts of these Heavenly Hats for our patients. We also thank Brian Reddington from the Mount Sinai Development Office, and Carol Henry, our administrator, for bringing this inspirational effort to our attention.”
–Max Sung, M.D.-Medical Director-Derald H. Ruttenberg Treatment Center at Mount Sinai Medical Center—New York, NY
“Anthony, I wanted to personally thank you for what you are doing.  I contacted Heavenly Hats on behalf of my dear mother who has cancer.  We were amazed and delighted coming home from a very long day of chemo to a package.  I had not told my mom that I had asked for a hat for her as I must admit I was not sure anything would arrive.  Boy was I wrong!!  We were so taken back by the generosity and there were so many hats!!!  We all thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  My mom had lost her job that week and bills were piling up, she was sick from the chemo and everything was quite overwhelming.  Receiving that package of hats may seem like no big deal to some, but to us it was a lifeline.  I wish you could have seen her face!!  My parents are going to face a financial strain and mom and I had just been to a store and hats were at least $50.00 each.  She was disheartened to say the least.  Receiving your hats was such a blessing we can’t thank you enough.  Every time she puts one on I smile and think of how many others there must be who have been helped by you and Heavenly Hats.  My hat is off to you for what you are doing, what a fine young man you are.  Thank you again and keep up the good work!! ”

“Today I received one of your hat packages for a good friend/co worker who has breast cancer. She is out of the office today because she had a chemo treatment yesterday. I can’t wait to give these hats to her this weekend.  She will be so grateful. I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate this wonderful gift you have given us. I was very impressed with your website and even more impressed when I received the package in the mail today! I am very impacted by the fact that a teenage boy would start such an organization. You are a very special person with a generous heart. I hope you know how much this will brighten her day…along with many other people who are going through treatments and therapy for cancer. This is a truly amazing and unselfish act of kindness for anyone to do especially a teenager!!! Thanks so much for making our days a little brighter. There may be hope for this world yet if we can find more people like you!!”

“My name is Abby Arfe and I am the Director of Social Work Services at The Cancer Center For Kids at Winthrop University Hospital.  I wanted to take the opportunity to express my heartfelt appreciation for the wonderful work that you do, and for sending us boxes of new hats for our patients.  The children get such expressions of joy on their faces whenever a new box of your hats arrives at the office.  They each take a turn, sorting through the collection-trying to decide which hat they like best for themselves, and for their fellow patients.  You should see the smiles on their faces as they find just the right one!  Your thoughtfulness and sensitivity towards our youngsters is remarkable, and you truly make a difference in their lives.  Thank you again for all that you do.”

“I was so touched to receive the package today — a hat request made on behalf of 5 year old Kate, friend of my daughter. Kate is battling cancer for the second time and today is her second day of  intensive chemo. She will be in need of 100% cotton caps/hats.  I honestly didn’t expect to receive anything (nothing is free and that easy, right?), so imagine my surprise when this large shoebox was delivered!!! The cute teddy bear and the –not one, but FOUR — hats you sent will bring a smile to Kate’s face, I am sure. We hope to take my daughter to visit her and deliver them tomorrow…Please know that this is truly appreciated and unexpected! Your kindness will save the family precious time that they would have lost to go shopping around for 100% cotton hats (our closest hat store — an hour away– carries only one style of child sized cap).  THANK YOU so much for your generosity and for reaching out and providing this valuable service to others at their time of need. May God bless each of you.”

“As a bald, hospitalized leukemia patient I received one of your hats this morning.  It was so much fun “shopping” through the box of hats & found one that will be just perfect for being out in the sun this summer.  Thank you for your wonderful program and my new hat.  It always helps to have people we love beside us when we have to do difficult things in life.”
–Susie Trueblood—Beech Grove, IN
“Today we had a 16 year-old who just finished his radiation therapy treatments.  He now faces chemotherapy for at least 6 months.  We offered him the opportunity to choose one of your hats.  He proudly chose a Green Bay Packer cap.  Thank you for brightening his day.”
–St. Vincent Hospital—Green Bay, WI
